Last week, Conrad Hotels & Resorts opened the doors of the first Conrad branded property in Saudi Arabia – the Conrad Makkah. The hotel which is designed for today’s smart luxury traveller, combines intuitive service with sophisticated, locally inspired surroundings.
Situated in two towers, steps away from the heart of the Holy City of Makkah; the building overlooks the Sacred Mosque, Al Masjid al Haram, and the Holy Kaabah. The Safwah tower is about 1 km away while the King Abdulaziz International Airport sits 75 km away.
The interior decor of the elegant, spacious and modern rooms, are inspired by both modern and traditional Islamic design and complemented by contemporary art works. For meeting, Conrad Makkah features two meeting spaces which can take up to 100 guests as well as a business centre and Executive Lounge.
Also, there is an on-site Masjid (mosque) with capacity enough for 1000 guests and audio connection as well as elevators to the Masjid Al Haram. The hotel delights customers with a wide range of dining options from the elegant steak restaurant, Prime, to all-day dining at the Al Mearaj restaurant.

According to reports, Makkah leads the hotel development chart in Saudi Arabia with a total of 24,133 rooms currently in construction followed by Riyadh and Jeddah with 10,053 and 6,890 rooms respectively. In Middle East and Africa (MEA) regions, Makkah sits second, only behind Dubai with a total of 43,714 rooms under development.
