At the Farnborough Airshow yesterday (July 12); Emirates emerged as the world’s best airline in 2016, taking over the crown from Qatar Airways. The UAE-based airline was crowned at the 2016 Skytrax World Airline Awards when the world’s Top 100 Airlines in 2016, based on votes by airline customers worldwide, was revealed.
This marks the fourth time Emirates is being crowned as the world’s best airline since the inception of the awards, 14 years ago. It also won the World’s Best Inflight Entertainment and Best Airline in the Middle East. While Qatar Airways has slipped to second, the airline still managed to win three awards including the World’s Best Business Class.
Singapore Airlines which came third won the Best Airline in Asia while Cathay Pacific came fourth and picked up award for the Best First Class Lounge for its recently renovated facilities in Hong Kong.
Most of the world’s top 10 airlines are those from Asia but there are none from Britain and the United States of America in the top ten. Further down the list shows Ethiopian Airlines, Kenyan Airways and TAAG Angola are ranked 76th, 85th and 86th respectively, on the list. We present you the current World’s Top 10 Airlines In 2016.
