Hilton Hotels and Resorts has announced the opening of its 100th Latin American property – the Hilton Rio De Janeiro Copacabana. The 545-room beachfront property is the company’s second in the city and one of the largest in the well-known Copacabana neighborhood, Rio de Janeiro.
Located witin easy access to the city’s two airports, financial center, main cultural attractions and world-famous tourist hotspots, as well as a variety of shopping malls and entertainment options for all guests’ tastes, the Hilton Rio De Janeiro offers a privileged location in the Copacabana neighborhood.
The hotel’s building, an iconic 37-story skyscraper, which houses the former Windsor Atlantica, was built in 1975 and underwent an extensive renovation in 2011. It has amenities such as a full service spa, 36 flexible meeting and event spaces for up to 500 attendees, and two pools, one of which offers 360-degree views of Rio’s landmarks, including Sugar Loaf, Christ the Redeemer, and Copacabana Beach.
Hilton plans to open about 20 properties in Latin America this year, including hotels and resorts in Belize, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
