Friendly neighbours – Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda have jointly launched a new East Africa tourism portal. The launch happened in the presence of the CEO of Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), Betty Radier, as well as other top tourism officials from Uganda & Rwanda at the Pearl of Africa Trade Expo in Kampala, Uganda.
In an effort to market the region as a single destination, the shared platform – http://visiteastafrica.org/, will see trade operators from the three countries market multi-country packages and experiences as well as provide a new channel to reach regional and international audiences.
Commenting at the event, the CEO of KTB, Betty Raider said;
“The launch of the portal comes in stride with East Africa striving to work together for the betterment of her people. If ever there was a good time for Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya to come together it is now. Our economies are growing stronger and travel has been made easier due to the great improvements in our infrastructure.
The fact that member countries can easily access each other’s countries by road, rail, or even short distance flights should encourage more inter-country visits. Why travel the world when one has not explored the amazing beauty that East Africa as a whole has to offer?.”
