JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts recently announced the opening of its first luxury property in Singapore – the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach. The 634-roomed hotel with 587 rooms and 47 suites, an exclusive option for corporate and leisure travellers, is an iconic lifestyle destination in the heart of Singapore’s arts and culture district.
Sitting close to Singapore’s key tourist attractions, Shenton Way Central Business District (CBD) and the Marina Bay entertainment and business district, the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach consists of both historic and newly constructed buildings with interiors designed by renowned French designer Philippe Starck and architecture by British award-winning architects, Foster and Partners.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a 7m video wall by installation by South Korean artist Lee Lee Nam while various artists has also lent their expertise with additional works including Donna a Cavallo – a lobby sculpture, reclaimed scrap metal sculpture – the Gorilla, RGB wallpaper, and graffiti artwork.
Rooms and suites are fitted with smart technology including an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) system and a Wi-Fi enabled mobile phone. The hotel has two sky gardens, two outdoor infinity pools, the signature Spa by JW – made up of 10 treatment rooms (coming by 2017), and nine dining and beverage options including Akira Black, Court Martial Bar and Media Bar, Beach Road Kitchen and Tonic.
